Border Done

Yep, I finished the border--and it took a little longer than I expected, but I really like the way it finished off the quilt top.

I've just pinned the quilt top up on another quilted wallhanging, and it doesn't hang quite right, but it was the best I could do to get a quick photo to share. This really was a nice way to use up some of my scraps.

We've had a busy weekend celebrating Hubby's birthday with one family get together after another, so I've sewn when I could fit it in. Sunday night Hubby and I went to see the movie Rock of Ages. If you lived through the 80s, enjoy the rock music of the era, have the kind of sense of humor that appreciates parodies, and aren't too easily offended by sex, I'd recommend the movie--we thought it was a lot of fun.

Another weekend is over, and that means it's back to work for me in the morning, but at least there's a holiday to look forward to this week!

Your border is excellent. It works well with the 5x5s and really makes the quilt unique!!

Fantastic border design Kim! You are right. I didn't give much thought to the border but having a pieced border really adds a lot to the quilt center. Outstanding finish!
