Another Applique Block of the Month

Have you seen the free Country Cottages block of the month over at Shabby Fabrics? I came across it a month or two ago and wanted to make it. When I was cleaning up the Sweat Shop, I was admiring the fat quarters of Lakehouse fabric I had and thought it would be ideal for this project. The second block was recently posted, so I'm already behind, but I finally finished--or just about finished--Block 1--

The pattern has white embroidered snowflakes that I haven't added so far. I have some snowflake buttons I was thinking about using instead, but I'd add those after I quilt it, so I have plenty of time to decide which to use.

What are you working on?

I am making the same blocks. Found it through a blog. It is really quite nice. I do not have a blog to show mine off, but enjoy seeing others. They have several posted on the Shabby fabric blog.

Hi! Your block is great! The gingham is perfect for the roof!
I've to get started too, I'm going to be working on lots of applique while on vacation.
Take care, Leslie

Oh how cute!! The little house is perfect with its gingham roof and the snow-woman with her tipped hat and pink scarf. I love it. I can't wait to see more.

Such a beautiful block!!! I'm saving these houses each month-- until I can get caught up on some other long-time UFO's!

oh Kim that is sooo adorable! I printed those 2 blocks out and of course, not even attempted making them yet... but now I am really inspired after seeing your block. You put the A in adorable.

Very cute! I'm like Sinta, printed them but that is as far as I got... now I'm wondering if I can slip them into my schedule. ;-) Have a happy weekend!
