What Was I Thinking?

That's what I spent a chunk of the evening wondering as I dug through patterns, fabrics, books, buttons, this and that, and all the general detritus of the sewing room.  What was I thinking several months ago when I tucked away a packet of buttons and embellishments for the Bunny Hill Pumpkinville quilt?  Because if I could just remember my thought process at that time, maybe I could recall where I put it.

The Sweat Shop is starting to look like it might explode again.  Although I don't feel I've been buying very much lately to add to the clutter, I must be buying more than I'm using because I suddenly don't seem to have room for what I have.  Or maybe it's just that I haven't really kept up with organizing things as I should; I think it's just about time for another serious clean out.  And I started that a bit tonight, just because I didn't really have any other options.

Here's the first little thing I thought I could do.  Are any of you interested in the Bunny Hill Autumn House pattern?  It's not exactly in pristine condition since it was used when it came to me and then I've made the quilt too, but I'd be happy to pass it on to someone who's interested in making it.  Just as a reminder, here's what my quilt looks like--keep in mind it still needs to be quilted:

The quilt finishes at 49" x 57", so it's a nice medium large wall hanging size.  If you're industrious and start right away, you might have it done by THIS autumn; if you're a little slower, you still have NEXT autumn to shoot for.  If more than one person wants the pattern, I'll have a drawing on Saturday night and post the identity of the victor on Sunday's blog post.

Since I've finished this one and I'm nearly done with Merry, Merry Snowmen, I thought I'd get out the pattern for Pumpkinville and start making plans.  That's when I started wondering where the embellishment kit was.  And after looking in every logical place I thought it could be, I finally decided I'd never purchased it in the first place.  Thinking back, I remembered I bought the pattern hot off the press, and I don't think there WAS an embellishment kit yet.  So I guess I'd better buy that before I forget and go through all of this again.  And as crazy full as the Sweat Shop seems right now, I'm pretty sure I still have room for one little embellishment kit.  All is not lost.  It just seems that way sometimes.

I know my quilting room is due for a general tidying. I have piles of things needing to be put away. Really, putting fabric away is no harder than taking it out, but why does it seem so? And it drives me completely nuts when I can't find something, so I need to keep on top of things. I'm glad you remembered that you never bought it in the first place. I would have tore my room apart!

I would love this pattern and then be able to pass it along to another quilter. Autumn is my favorite season and I would love a quilt to go with the season.

I would love to have the pattern. I'm currently finishing Rabbits Prefer Chocolate, another Bunny Hill design, and will pass that along to a friend once I am done. Recycling patterns is one way I attempt to keep my studio under control, but my space still needs a goo overhaul.

Fall is my favorite time of year, this quilt would be a perfect addition to my home. I rarely keep the quilts I make, I love giving a gift from the heart but this I would not part with. I have 2baby quilts to quilt and 2 that need borders and quilting. Busy busy I just need to get back in my sewing room and finish. Thanks for the generous offer, good luck to everyone. ;-> Toni Anne

PS my sewing room could always be neater. If it were bigger with more storage that would be a help. Maybe someday. ;->

I'm interested in the pattern too.

I've put things away in a "safe place" in my sewing room and forgetten where too. In an effort to stay organized, I sometimes overdo it.

Just this morning in my hoarders paradise (aka sewing room)I found a package o' stuff that has eluded me for MONTHS! And where was it? Right where I thought it was. So how come it wasn't there the first 20 times I looked for it? Gremlins, I tell.....there must be gremlins.

I need to work in my sewing area too. I don't have a designated room unfortunately. I would love to make a quilt like yours and then pass the pattern along. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I would love to win that pattern. I'm sure it wouldn't be done by Fall, but it would be fun to make. As for finding things, I have the worse time finding the things I put in a "special place". Somehow those take the longest to find and I find them in the oddest places!

Kim, I would love winning your autumn pattern. Like many others, autumn is my favorite season and I love Bunny Hill patterns. I would definitely pass on this pattern once I completed it.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I would love to have a chance to make that pattern. I love all her stuff. You are always so kind to pass things on to us. I really liked your cottages you recently quilted. I loved how you did each month differently. What a darling quilt. Alas, I still have only the patterns and haven't had time to start that quilt. Working on a raccoon quilt right now. Lots of squares but he will be a really cute little raccoon when he is done. Thanks again. K-
