My Balancing Act

You've seen Soccer Son's balancing act; now here's mine!  I've managed to balance work, chores, family, and friends and still kept a quilt project going.  Woo-hoo!

What am I talking about?  The December block for the Country Cottages BOM is now done:

I DO think I might want to add some snow on the roof and smoke coming from the chimney, a little bit like the January block that came first.  Here's a look at all 12 months' blocks up on my design wall.

Of course, I still need to add sashing and borders, but it's coming along and I like it alot.  I have all kinds of buttons to add as embellishments, but those will have to wait until it's quilted.

This has been such a fun free pattern from Shabby Fabrics--my thanks to Jennifer!

I agree that another little curl or something from the chimney on this last block would help tell the story, so to speak. This is going to make such a fun quilt--and free! How cool. I can't wait to see the sashing and the whole quilt come together.

I agree with the smoke curl - this is so, so cute. Please be sure to show the piece with all the sashings. Beautiful job!

Oh the blocks are adorable. I am so bummed though. I forgot to get the last two block downloads from them! My family and I were really sick with whooping cough the end of last year so I guess I have a good excuse. Oh well. Maybe I can wing it and design my own blocks based on the pictures. It will still be cute right? Thanks for sharing them with us!
