A Flock of Sheep

A week or two ago, I showed you the two sheep I made for the twin daughters of one of my bosses for Christmas, but I don't think I showed you the sheep I made for my stitchery friends for Christmas.

I made the sheep using a Buttermilk Basin pattern, that includes a pattern for the sheep and patterns to make wool "blankets" for the sheep for each month of the year.  (There's a similar pattern for punchneedle embroidery "blankets.")  My plan this year is to give my stitchery friends kits each month to make blankets for their sheep.  Today I made the January blanket.

It's hard to believe it's nearly the end of 2012, isn't it?  Hubby and I thought we might go to a movie on New Year's Eve.  Have you seen anything lately that you'd recommend?  Hubby's been suffering from a scratchy throat all day today, though, which could change our plans; I hope he's not finally coming down with my cold.  Both of us have done pretty well so far keeping my cooties away from him, but as I've started to feel better and do more around the house like cooking, I suppose it's more likely I'd pass something on.  I hope not though!

What do you have planned for New Year's Eve?

Wow those sheep are adorable...I love the monthly blankets part! January's is really cute. I rarely go to the movies but I'm dying to see Les Mis. My hubby is sick and I feel like I'm getting his cold...good times! We just stay home, play games and eat Christmas cookies every NYE.

I checked out the pattern at Buttermilk Basin. Yours looks a lot cuter then theirs!! My hubbie I usually stay home and just snack the night away. Considering we just had a foot and a half of snow fall over the weekend and they are calling for more today...we definitely won't be going any where. Have a happy new year!

Love the sheepies and am looking forward to seeing their outfits in 2013. As for movies, Lincoln is fabulous. And there's Skyfall... can't go wrong on a date with Bond... I mean Hubby.

we went to see The Hobbit the day after christmas ... it is NOT a chic flick - and NOT a feel-good kinda movie ... i'm gonna have to dig out the book cuz i read it more than 40 years ago and i don't remember it being quite the same as the movie ... or maybe there is a REASON why i haven't read it in 40 years and i will just fuhgeddaboudit...

waaaay cute sheepies!!!

Love your sheep! Are they made out of chenille? Skyfall is a great movie and I've only heard great things about Lincoln. How can you go wrong with Bond or Daniel Day Lewis?
Happy New Year!

We will be going to a USHL (hockey) game this evening and enjoying some fresh mini donuts! We haven't been able to go to many games this year (what with the NHL on lockout and all), but we love the game and are excited to go! We'll also have Tortierre - a meal we traditionally have on Christmas, but given our travel plans, we decided to wait until New Year's this time. Then, I think, we'll just celebrate at home!

So, tell me. This year, your goal was all applique all year. What is next year's quilting goal?

I saw the movie version of Les Miz, which I highly recommend. Very emotional, it was a 4-Kleenex show for me but my daughter and husband weren't so teary.

A couple of days ago I was looking at that cute sheep pattern and the blankets. So, how do I make the list of your stitchery friends and have you do for me what you're doing for them? LOL I've been here since the beginning that should count for something. LOL

Can we work a monthly trade? Can I become your sister, aunt, sister in law, BFF, Bestie, etc?

Adorable, Kim!

Happy New Year!

OK, how about just the sheep and I'll handle the blankets? LOL

Does money talk? LOL

Can't blame a girl for trying. :-)

What adorable sheep. I love the blanket for each month idea. That is really sweet! Saw the wooly things this summer in Scotland. Yours are much cuter! and I am sure they are loved. Glad you are finally feeling better. K-
