A Few of My Favorite Things

Friday night is one of my favorite things. The work week's done and two days of doing whatever I feel like doing stretch ahead.

This past week has been particularly tiring. Taking last Friday off work to attend my nephew's wedding meant coming into work Monday morning and wading through all the paperwork and emails that had accumulated in my absence. It was 2 p.m. before I made it through what had been left. Monday was a 12-hour work day. Tuesday was about the same. Wednesday was a little better, and Thursday, during my annual review, management acknowledged that perhaps these two attorneys I've been working for are a bit too much for one person, so relief is in sight.

Sadly, these two attorneys I've been working for are a couple of my favorite things too, so I'll be sorry to lose one of them. It can't be helped though.

On top of the work--or maybe because of it--I was hit with a bit of a stomach flu with body aches. It didn't knock me out but it was just enough to make everything a little more difficult. Remember the other night when I blogged I needed a recess? That was part of it.

With work being what it was, I didn't have very much "play time" this week, but I made good use of what I had and finished the Autumn House block for the month. I think this applique project is one of my favorite things too.

By Friday, I was feeling a lot better, all the way around. My health was normal again and work was a little less stressful. In fact, I went into work a little late and had lunch with my friends too. At Chevy's. Chips and salsa heaven. And a little something to wash the chips down.

I'm sure I deserved it. I just wish we could have stayed for a second round, because I'm sure I deserved that too!

Friday is a day to celebrate. Another of my favorite things is having a little giveaway, so I looked through my patterns and found one just for you. It's a Bareroots Little Stitchies pattern called Seasons Stitchery.

I like it so much, I've bought it twice; I just didn't know when I bought it again that the second one was for you.

If you'd like to win this little pattern, tell me one of your favorite things. I'll draw a winner on Sunday night and announce it on Monday's blog post. And remember: You have to come back here on Monday to see if you won and claim your prize. Good luck!

My favorite thing is to be with my family. We are a little scattered over the USA and we get together at the beach for a week. It is really a joy.

My favorite thing is to feel at peace within myself. Sometimes that peace comes from my family, sometimes from my friends, sometimes from an accomplishment of mine, sometimes from a conversation with God, sometimes from my surroundings. No matter the time or date I strive for personal peace.

My very favorite thing is to have all my kids & grandkids go to Mass together, or at the very least spend time together. It doesn't, happen often enough. Glad you are feeling better.

My son-in-law is an Attorney and he works his secretary to death, so I can really feel for ya. Sounds like your workload will soon be lighter. So sorry to hear that you were sick. Those things happen at the worse times.
Cute pattern! One of my favorite things would have to be long walks with a loved one. Love being out in the fresh air.

My favorite thing is when all of our kids and grandkids come home for a BBQ. I love to sit and watch the little kids play on the lawn and the big kids all visit and catch up with each other. Very cute pattern, by the way.

My most favorite thing is when our whole family is able to be together, which doesn't happen too often. But, this summer, the kids & grandkids will travel from CO & MA to visit us in VA. Would love to win this cute giveaway so I could make them for both families at Christmas as a reminder of the fun summer visit. Thanks for doing this giveaway. Glad to hear you're feeling better!

A favorite thing for me is spending time with my husband and son, I got to do that extra yesterday with some bookstore shopping and a quilt store thrown in :) Not sure that the quilt store portion of the trip was among the boy's favorite but the rest of the day made up for it for them! That pattern looks great, not sure I've seen it before but can see why it made it into your bag twice!

My most favorite thing is spending time with my family when we can all get together. My next favorite would be spending the day at a quilt show with my two quilting buddies. We always go to this one booth to look at the Bareroots patterns. This one is adorable, and I would love to make it. Thanks for the giveaway. Glad you are feeling better.

One of my favorite things to do is to have sewing time with my mother-in-law. She helps me with basting and choosing fabric as well as sharing from her stash. Your little pattern is really sweet. I like the combo of the stitching and patchwork as well as applique. Thanks for your applique information. It was really nice to get a full explanation of the starch method. K-

One of my favorite things is spending time with my mommy! She's so much fun! I also love to indulge in a good book - it's rare to carve out time for such luxuries when the kids are little! Thanks for all of your generosity - I would love to make that "family" project!

Opps, forgot to tell you my favorite things.

I love fabric--touching it, imagining it as a beautiful quilt, buying it, thinking about it....

I love my friends.

I love to read, cook, read some more, quilt, read some more. I read EVERY day!

I love my dog, my children and my husband.....sometimes in that order since the dog never cause s me a problem. Gotta love that!
