Survivor, Boss's Day, and Anything Else That Comes to Mind

Okay, I know some of you watch Survivor. What happened to Shambo's hands? Hubby and I must have missed something, because we both saw her holding her hands carefully, palms up, before the immunity challenge but neither of us saw what happened before that. I guess that's what happens when you watch Survivor while eating dinner. Actually, a LOT can happen if you watch Survivor while eating dinner--especially if they're having a reward challenge where they eat something like sea slug gut smoothies. Still, it's probably easier than eating during CSI.

Do you know that Friday, October 16th is Boss's Day? When I came home from work tonight night, I asked Hubby what special plans he had for me.

I'm planning to cook breakfast for the bosses at my office. I just hope I can manage to drag myself out of bed early enough to do what needs to be done. Unfortunately, I don't think my own bosses will be there, although Girl Boss II will get in a bit later in the morning. Boy Boss is in Ohio at yet another family wedding--it seems like someone in the family gets married every couple weeks. He or his wife must come from a family nearly as large as the Duggars!

Speaking of weird families, did you watch the news about the six-year-old boy who was thought to be stuck in a large helium balloon his family kept tethered in their Colorado backyard? The balloon got free and during the two hour, 50-mile flight, it was thought the boy was in the box or basket under the balloon--which, when it came down, no longer had anything attached. If you didn't hear about it, don't worry--the boy was found, hiding in a box in his garage attic the entire time. By the way, for fun, the family members "devote their time to scientific experiments that include looking for extraterrestrials and building a research-gathering flying saucer [balloon] to send into the eye of the storm." Yeah, typical American family. And if that's not enough, they were on the TV show Wife Swap twice.

Today was flu shot day at work, and I had mine! It wasn't the H1N1 vaccine, which the nurses expect to get in a few weeks, but at least I'm protected from the "normal" flu once again this year. Have you had yours?

Enjoy your Friday and remember the weekend is nearly here!

I watched Survivor while typing our the guild newsletter...but I didn't see or hear anything about her hands. Might have to check out jeff's blog today.
Ashley, Ashley, Ashley....why run your mouth about being able to eat anything and then be the ONLY one NOT able to keep it down!! Shame on you....
More info coming out about the family of the boy. Very interesting....

I don't watch Survivor but understand how you can miss something. CSI-a good show to watch if you're trying cut out the snacking while watching TV habit. Bleck! You must have great bosses to be willing to get up early and make 'em breakfast.

Not much bothers me on tv because I hardly watch the picture - I listen while I'm handsewing or working(playing) on the computer.

Okay...my name is Debbie and I'm a reality tv junkie! Don't know what was wrong with Shambo's hands except maybe...like everyone's feet...they had shriveled from the wetness, water seeped in and made them swell (my professional opinion...lol!) Anyway...at least Shambo chugged her smoothie while some of her tribe sat out (I gagged thru the whole thing!). So now, I'm not liking Evil Russell, Jr. very much for not letting her have the food! (I may need an intervention for this addiction!)

the consensus of opinions in colorado about the balloon boy is thank Spirit that he was found safe, but he shouldn't be able to sit down for a week - corporal punishment is against the law here, but i think most juries would make an exception in this particular case.

trying to eat during Bones is not a good idea, either ... i try to miss the mess during the first ten minutes - but they've been sneaking in human soup during the middle of the show, too - shudder.

we're gonna go to the walk-in flu shot clinic today ... h1n1 vaccine isn't available here, yet - my oldest daughter's supervisor (a thirtyish mother of a 3 year old) died from h1n1 complications yesterday

I never get the flu shot, even though it's offered free at school. I might also skip the free H1N1 shot - we had several cases last year at school and those who got it were not even as sick as one would normally be with the regular flu.

That balloon family is ridiculous. Apparently, the Wife Swap programs showed them allowing those boys to do pretty much anything they want...leaping from the bannister onto the couch below, climbing onto the roof, etc. Dad is quoted as saying, "There's no such thing as safety." Apparently NOT, in that house. Glad those kids are not in MY class...

Poor Shambo! I felt so bad for her missing out on the BBQ. But other than this it was kind of an uneventful episode I thought.
