Waiting . . .

I seems I've been waiting for fall to arrive. I finally went looking for it today.

Here in Sacramento, it's still HOT. Our temps have been in the 90s and they're expected to stay there for the next few days at least. In fact, it might even be over 100 this weekend. ARGH! THAT's not FALL!

I mentioned yesterday that I'd been doing some fall decorating, but with this weather, I'm just not feeling all that motivated. On the way home from work, though, I stopped in at Bearpaws & Hollyhocks to "reclaim" my Hey Ghoul Friend quilt, and now it's hanging on my wall. At the shop, I found Lindy had just gotten in the Witching Hour fabric line and had that panel I showed you--the one I framed. And, by the way, here's something I forgot to mention in that post--I just used an inexpensive black frame from JoAnn's to frame the panel. I even bought it with a coupon, which made it LESS expensive. Not bad for a focal point! I think I'll rummage through my frames and see if I can find another, smaller frame for the Thimbleberries panel I used last year. I still have a couple places where it would fit nicely!

After Bearpaws, I made a stop at Michael's--I thought I might find fall THERE. Nope! I seriously didn't buy a thing! I was hoping maybe I'd find something new among their Martha Stewart items, but I didn't. I DO have her Halloween magazine, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Maybe I'll find a new idea in the magazine. As it is, though, so far I've just been recycling all the same old stuff. Not that it's BAD stuff, mind you--but I like to try to add a little something new every year, and so far this year, nothing's caught my eye.

After Michael's? I stopped at the grocery store and added pumpkins of several sizes to my cart. I'll need a few more, but I've made a good start. So, maybe fall IS on its way, but it's taking its own sweet time about it.

Did I tell you I stopped at Apple Hill on the way home from Lake Tahoe quilt camp? I picked up a box of apples so I could do some baking. That hasn't been happening either--I'm still waiting for fall. I'm going to have to do something with them soon, though, so if fall has stopped to visit you at your house, could you please send it on its way? I really, REALLY miss it!

I think it may have just arrived here in England! All the trees are turning, bright days, chilly evenings, etc. Would you like me to give it a map? I love the pumpkin picture at the top of this post. I really do wish people decorated here for the season like you seem to over there.

We've had a couple of frost's in in southern Ontario Canada so the leaves are starting to turn it's starting to feel like autumn. So I went to Michael's on Tues. SEPT.22 feeling like fall decorating as well - When I arrived they had the Christmas trees up and were unpacking and setting up for Christmas!!! The fall and Halloween decorations had already been picked over and cleared out.
I turned around and left the store.

Our weather is definitely turning to fall, and I love it. The days are comfortable and the nights are nice and cool. I haven't started decorating for fall, but will start during the first week of October.

Well it is still warm and muggy here in southern Indiana, BUT, something is sneaking out at night and shaking the leaves off our trees! I think FALL is hanging out here...somewhere!
As soon as I see his little face, I will give him your message.

I don't think California has fall, does it? Well, some parts probably do. But not where we live, I guess.

I'd send you some Fall if I could ... I really, really would; but seeing how it plain and simply doesn't exist here in South Florida, I'm looking for some of it myself! Sooooooo, if you finally find some and if you have a bit leftover, please send it my way. I adore that Fall picture! It makes my heart go pitter patter!

I'd love to share, we are having those cool mornings and nights and the trees are turning. We did have a couple of 90 degree days which was not normal, but we're back to 70's now and I just love it! (I'm in Vancouver, Washington btw)

Fall seems to be here..it's supposed to be in the 40s tonight, and it was in the mid-60s today. The leaves are turning too. Of course the other day it was hot and humid! Ick! I feel for you, your weather is just not fair. I'll blow some cold air over from NY. *whoosh*

Being in the same neck of the woods as you, I too am looking for fall. I guess I will start decoration for fall just because of the date.

fall should arrive in Wisconsin sometime Monday, that's when the temperatures are supposed to hover around 50. That should be more like it here anyway. We had fall in August, so this September we had summer. Just a bit mixed up.
