I need a name for this quilt. This is the one I'm teaching at my next class at Bearpaws & Hollyhocks at the beginning of June, and I have to publish the pattern in the next week or two. Apparently my brain thinks it's on vacation too, because I just haven't thought of anything I like. Can you help? If I decide to use your suggestion (and you're the first to suggest it), I'll send you a free pattern just as soon as it comes off the press. I'll take suggestions through Thursday night and announce a winner on my Friday post.
Although the class is called Patriotic Patchwork, you needn't use "patriotic" or "patchwork" in the name--that was just something I came up with on the spur of the moment when I had to commit to teaching a class and had no idea what I wanted to teach.
Oh, and if you're anywhere around Sacramento on June 6th and want to spend the afternoon sewing, chatting, and eating (yes, I'll be feeding my students again), I'd love to see you in class!
THIS POST IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW COMMENTS AS THERE ARE JUST SO MANY GOOD NAME SUGGESTIONS, MY BRAIN MAY EXPLODE, AND IT WILL LOOK JUST LIKE THAT QUILT!

Betsy Gets Bold! As in, after she finished the flag, she made a quilt.
"Fireworks!"
As a title it already makes you think of red, white & blue and the Fourth of July. The quilt looks like a big fireworks explosion and all the little sparklies that burst from it!
Starry, starry night....it's that Don Mclean song and now it won't leave my head.....
Very pretty. I'm terrible at naming quilts but I'm sure you'll get alot of suggestions
How about Wheel of Fortune? (Combining Carpenter's Wheel and Soldier of Fortune) and a play on the game name.
Then you can play a version of the game during class and give prizes. As if you didn't have enough to do to prepare...
American Star or Star of America. I am not able to take that class, I'll be on my way to Lost Wages, I mean Las Vegas for my niece's HS Graduation. See ya tonight at Jo's.
Pam
Hey Kim how about the name LIBERTY because of the colors and the closeness of the holiday 4th of July Sharon Mac
Liberty Star. CAthyTrumble
How about "American Spirit"? I think its strong and your example really says that!

Off the top:
Patriotic Bloom
Star Puzzle
Hidden Blocks
Kaleidiscope Star
Star Points
Star Blossom
Pointed Petals

Winged Star. I don't know whay but the white pieces in the half blocks around the edges remind me of birds wings fluttering around the edges. Quilt looks great. The contrast is stunning.
Wow these gals can come up with names can't they? I need to employ them on some of mine! I never can think of good names for quilts...but I do like the pattern!!
Betsy's Star
Summer Picnic
Pride of America
Bright Stars
Sparklers
I'm thinking Starburst!
I'm thinking Star Gazing or North Star!
Oh my...these ladies have sure come up with some great ideas...... How about A Brilliant Celebration!
I'm late to chime in, but how about "American Starburst"?
i like all all of the American themed name ideas - did someone already say *star spangled* ... but i'm thinking that when i make this, it probably won't be in red white & blue ... maybe *star light, star bright*
Have fun choosing because all the suggestions are good ones!
How about "American Star Beauty"
For some reason I thought of "Blooming Star" because it reminds me of a blooming flower and probably won't always be made with red/white/blue. It's a great pattern, no matter what name you choose. -e from Petaluma
Lots of great names out there already and mine is a different variation....STRIKING STAR. Great pattern Kim. I wish I could attend the class, but I am FAR, FAR from Sacramento.
Okay, so I tried not to look at everyone elses suggestions. With it having the Americana theme and when I think of America and it's econmic situation, and trying to be positive... Star Power, Star of Hope, Star so Bright
No matter what you name it, it's beautiful.
I wish I lived closer to Sacramento to take the class.
"Seein' Starz! Oooo, lots of good names out there!
Nice try Kim!
Pam
Kim beat me to it with Starburst so I'm going to say Starbright!
Cheers!
My idea is: Americana Kaleidoscope.
Love your quilt!
My suggestion would be American Wheel. Does kind of suggest the patch, and the patriotic theme. Lovely job.
I would name it: 'Stars Around America'
Spirit of Liberty
I'm horrible picking names. Guess I'll just to buy the pattern from you! :) :) :)
My Stars

I think PARADE DAY would be a good name. It reminds me of a parade banner.
These colors actually look kinda Frenchy to me, so how about "Provence Wheel". Can you say it the Frenchy way--Pro-vahnce?
Love your pattern...i say you name it "Dazzling" or "Be Dazzled"
Hi Kim, when I fist looked at it .. for some reason a maze pattern came to mind.. so I pick:
Star Maze or Star Mazing
either way.. it's a great pattern!
I personally like some of the others better than any I can suggest but ( like Star Mazing )
but two things come to mind- A Mazing Stars or Wheeling Stars
( the pattern reminds me of a carpenter's wheel traditional pattern) .
Whatever you name it - the pattern has turned out beautifully.
Your hat class looked like so much fun and what a great hat party you threw. I loved your hat pin cushions-
I wish I did live closer - you always do it up just so- the little extras make the class a memorable event for your students!
Good luck with the pattern name.
oh another name "Road to the stars..."
Regards,
Anna
WOW, what a bunch of good names Have fun finding the right one. You will
How about "Freedom Star." The white on the corners reminds me of doves from a distant.
How about "Liberty 4 All"? or "Americana Sampling"?
"American Hero" . Well, I could go on and on.. thanks for picking my brain...
