A Yummy Find!

Do you remember, by any chance, when I posted HERE about the Quilter's Kitchen by Jennifer Chiaverini? I had just made this really yummy pork dish--

I've since made the dish a couple more times, and it's always excellent! Well when I was at the thrift store the other day, I came across another copy of the book, so I quickly snapped it up. It's filled with recipes that are strung together by the story of one of the newest members of the Elm Creek Quilters, a woman who was brought on to cook for the staff and retreat-goers.

Would you like to win it? If you like the Elm Creek/Chiaverini books, like to cook, and don't already have a copy, please leave me a comment, and I'll put you in the drawing. I'll pick a winner on Saturday night. Good luck!

I have only rad one of her books and when I get to the bottom of the books I have here at home I need to check this one out, I'm like some of the other people who have commented in that I get in a rut with my cooking. It seems like I cook the same things day in and day out.

you DO find lots of good stuff at the thrift store! i've read the first 6 books in the Elm Creek series - they came as samplers, three books published in one volume (times two) ... i love a good read.

Lisa said...

I would LOVE the cookbook ... your pork dish looks so YUMMY!

Julia from Thimbleberries said...

You just never know what you will find at the thrift store. I had to get the book out from the library, where it also needed to be returned!

I'll hope to be picked!

Just wanted to comment on the Back home quilt. I am making mine on my own...no class. I have stopped where I am because I havent made some decisions. I am changing it too. I have all the stuff and am finding it a bit busy for my taste. I am thinking that it mightnot be as big as it was meant to be, but if you have taught me anything, it really is okay to make changes and make a quilt really yours.
