Weekends

I don't like the fact that weekends go by so quickly. I'm not ready. I'd like another day or two. I feel a little like a very hungry Oliver Twist, bowl in hand, saying, "Please sir, I want some more."

Did you watch the Superbowl? I didn't, and I almost feel guilty about that. Almost, but not quite. Hubby went to watch it with his brother at a bar and grill, so I enjoyed myself quilting--and cleaning house. No, I didn't exactly "enjoy myself" cleaning house, but I play a game with myself, seeing how quickly I can get it done, so I can get back to playing. One hour and 20 minutes. Pretty close to a record today! I DO enjoy a clean house though. And I got out of cooking dinner--I told Hubby to eat something while he was out. Here on the west coast, the game got over around 7 p.m. and I knew he'd be back too late for me to feel like starting dinner. At least that's the excuse I used. Of course, most week nights I don't get home from work until around 6:30 or 7 p.m., so it's not like I NORMALLY cook dinner early, but hey, it sounded good to me! Anyway, Hubby enjoyed the game, I enjoyed my play time, and we both had a nice Sunday afternoon.

I finished the Valentine table topper during my play time. Yay me!

This is a smaller version of the quilt I taught in class--and the pattern some of you bought. It just uses five of the heart blocks in the center instead of 13. With this quilt on my table now, it's starting to look quite a bit like Valentine's Day around here!

And that reminds me. Remember the other night when I showed you a bunch of cute stuff? I forgot to show you these:

They're kinda Valentine's, kinda Easter. I saw them at the grocery store the other night and I couldn't decide whether I liked the white bunny best or the brown bunny best. And you know what? They SMELL like chocolate! I'm a sucker for cute stuffed animals. Sometimes I forget I'm not 10 years old.

You know what's going to be really hard? Getting up in the morning while Hubby sleeps in because he has the day off. Yep, that's gonna kill me. I think it's time for me to schedule a few vacation days.

I hope you enjoyed the weekend and did all that you wanted to do! And if you didn't get quite everything done? At least another weekend will come along in about five days or so. Thanks for stopping in to visit!

It's beginning to look like Valentine's Day...
You are finished and I keep trying to finish other things so I can work on my Valentines. Oh, well, like you said there is another weekend.

I really like your "game" when it comes to getting your housework done. I am going to try it. I like the idea of dedicating a certain amount of time and stopping then. Done!

Could you come clean MY house?? We were supposed to do that, but it got put off in favor of doing the taxes, saving our 401K money from the clutches of doom, and hanging quilts. Plus a few other things. Hubby tried to watch the game and got so disgusted he turned it off..and went to bed. It was 10:30 or so before it was over here.

The quilt turned out very well! Good job!

Love the bunnies! What a fun treat for yourself. And with a clean house to boot, you can feel quite good about things. I love the Valentine's tabletopper, too!

No Super Bowl watching at my house, thankfully. My husband is a baseball fan. We jumped over a couple of times to check the score but we ended up watching the CSI marathon instead!

Lovely table topper too.

Looks like you made the most of your time - clean house and sewing too! I can't really concentrate in a messy house, so I usually clean 1st too (playing beat the clock!). Great job!
Cheers! Evelyn

I have always wished there was a day inbetween Saturday and Sunday that no one knows about so nothing could ever get scheduled then. In my world, such a day exists, very happily I might add.

I did watch the Super Bowl, and it was exciting, but to me, the wrong team won. LOL I am a born and raised Seahawk fan, so I am not a Steelers lover. It was a good game, though! I am a football fanatic and I'm now going to go through withdrawal from football. Ah well.....baseball's coming!
I have a weakness for stuffed animals, too. Your bunnies are too sweet - where's their hearts to hold? They will be Valentine bunnies then.
Your quilt turned out so nice. I like the size you made, too. Since I have the pattern, I can make one just like it! Oh boy!!
