Just a Tad Chilly

Here in Northern California, winters don't usually get too cold--at least not by the standards set by the rest of the country. Of course, here, when temperatures finally dip below 70 degrees in the fall, we hurry to put on our sweatshirts and start making hot chocolate. It's all relative, I suppose, since our summertime highs routinely hit something like 110 degrees. And it HAS been cold here lately--cold for us anyway, which means our high temperatures are somewhere in the 50s and our lows dip into the 30s at night.

Yes, I can hear you in the midwest, the east coast, Canada, and other parts of the world laughing. If your high temperatures hit the 50s, you'd probably put on your shorts and tank tops and go outside and play! YOUR kind of cold--the kind of cold that's hit much of the rest of the country in the last week or so--is nearly unimaginable here.

So, in order to appreciate the cold weather some of you are experiencing, I had to venture out into the chilly climes of Blogland, and one of my first stops was a visit with Jace in Missouri. Apparently, Jace is cold. So cold, in fact, that he's "Ded. D. E. D. Ded." Of course, Jace can make even freezing cold temperatures funny. Go on over and pay him a visit--I hear tell there may even be a raffle involved once the thaw sets in! You'll find him HERE. You might want to put your coat on first though!

We are so spoiled here. My sister-in-law walks to work in 45 degree below 0 weather. She lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. She walks because she doesn't want to unplug the car!

I think a small dose of your cold weather would be heavenly right now. Melbourne is sweltering in a week of extreme temps. We are forced to cruise the northern blogs to get some virtual coolness from the snowy pics. Sigh.... rock on Autumn.

You are so right. In the college town where I live when the temp hits 50 degrees in the winter the kids have shorts, flip flops and tank tops on. When it hits 50 in the fall they'll have the hoodies and Uggs on...lol

I'm feeling a little better today, death has loosened it's grip just a tad, but I'm headed back out to the deepfreeze of Missouri.

Being ded ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Thanks for the concern Kim! lol

It is cold here in the midwest but I remember when we lived in Arizona how I was wearing shorts in December. Ah those were the days. The problem is we not only get the cold weather but we get the hot weather too. AHHHHH Oklahoma!

I know what you're saying about the cold. It's been below freezing here at night for the past week. We may be having a heatwave of 35 degrees tonight! I am so glad I live on the West Coast - I don't know that I would survive that deep freeze weather. It makes me cold just thinking about it!
You're right - Jace IS funny!
