This pattern is really cute....great for Christmas without being Christmassy if you know what I mean....I agree that cushions in this design would be great!
I LOVE your blog, thanks for the inspiration. The Peppermint candy quilt is great. I would love to give that pattern a try. Paper piecing is on my long "to do" list. I am copying the apple dumpling recipe. My husband will love it.
I'm a quilter living in Northern California. I sew and design quilts. During the day, I'm a legal secretary, but at night, I can usually be found in the Sweat Shop, engaged in the sport of X-treme quilting! I'm married and have two adult kids, Soccer Son and the Wild Child, and a daughter-in-law, the Lovely Wife. I try not to take myself too seriously and often write tongue-in-cheek--if you think I might be joking, I probably am!

Focus for 2013
Each year I like to set a goal or establish a focus subject for that year. In 2011, my goal was to complete 11 quilts that I'd set aside in various stages of completion. I met my goal, and my "reward" was to devote 2012 to applique--mostly hand applique. I began several block-of-the-month projects and, as happens to just about all of us, I bit off more than I could chew, and as 2012 drew to a close, I found I had many uncompleted projects once again. So in 2013, I'm working to finish what I began in 2012 with, perhaps, a new project thrown into the mix every now and then to keep it fun. Let's see, now, what 2013 brings.
It's 2013. Before 2012 ended, several ongoing projects were set aside. Okay, who am I kidding? I'm sure I could say the same thing for every year since 2000! So, in 2013, I'm going to try to get back to many of the 2012 projects and some that were begun even earlier, and get them done. I'll keep track of my progress, in words and photos, here in my side bar.

Great Idea... something different and the plaids are great for the project.
This will be a cute quilt! I'm curious about the blocks though. Were they paper pieced. If not, they look like they might be a PIA to put together!!!
Unusual border choice...

Very cute. I love it.
These are just adorable.
The candy quilt is cute....even just a few pillows with that design would be just too cute out for the holidays. Is it paper piecing?
