A friend sent this to me--I have no idea where it came from, but I thought you'd get a chuckle!
When students in a second grade class were given a homework assignment to draw a picture of what they wanted to be when they grew up, "Sarah" turned in the lovely drawing below. Needless to say, the teacher was a bit surprised--Sarah's mom, Mrs. Smith, had always seemed like such a conservative woman. So she sent a note home to the girl's mother asking for clarification as to the picture's meaning.
Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter, Sarah, how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture does NOT show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot. From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely, Mrs. Smith
LMAO!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear - I'm afraid that pole dancing is exactly what came into my mind when I first saw it too - what does that say about me? :o)))
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing so much I'm now actually crying - lol !
ReplyDeleteLOL! Reminds me of what a teacher told a group of parents at back to school night when my kids were little - she said "I promise to believe only half of what your child tells me about YOU, if you promise to believe only half of what they tell you about ME!" I always thought given kids imaginations that was a classic!
ReplyDeleteI do understand the worry of mrs Smith! LOL!!!

An update on yesterday, I did make a pie for National pie day, like you mentioned... then later, I dropped it on the floor. *sigh* The horrible thing is that earlier this week I made a home-made pizza and it also ended up on the floor. What a clutz!
ReplyDeleteROFLOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a hilarious picture!!
ReplyDeleteBut makes me wonder do teachers really send home notes asking what the pictures means?? Even if she was a pole dancer would she need to explain that to the teacher?
man for a second I thought you had found MY second graders artwork.....
ReplyDeletethen I remembered, I don't have a second grader!
That's funny but true. The last snow shovel can cause amazing behaviour by adults! Oh, and your pie loos delicious. Sounds like a great combo

This reminds me of a story written by an actual first grader of my co-worker. It went like this:
