Quilters' Porn. Shouldn't it arrive in a brown paper wrapper?
One thing I like about Hancock's of Paducah is that they carry so many crazy, cutting edge fabrics, many of which are outside my comfort zone. But it kind of makes me wonder. And think. And imagine. And fantasize. Yep, a lot like porn!
I think someone at FedEx reads my blog, because I came home to find that box containing the scallop ruler and book on my front porch. Why does it take FedEx two days to move a package across the country and then four days to move it across the city to my door? It's a mystery, but I'm delighted it arrived!
And when I came home to find that box on my porch, what do you think I was carrying? This nice little bag--
And look what was in it--
Don't they do a great job of wrapping purchases at Bear Paws and Hollyhocks? It looks like a gift! And I guess it is, sort of!
More yellow polka dot fabric for the cherry quilt border--in fact, I bought all that was left on the bolt! And I found this black and white stripe too--maybe it will find its way into the outer border? Another mystery at this point! But I DO think that these fabrics I purchased today and some other recent purchases will end up either in the quilt, in pillowcases, in throw pillows, or covering the panels I put up on the wall in place of a headboard in my bedroom. Lots of wondering, thinking, imagining, and fantasizing going on here! What's that statistic about how often men think about sex? I wonder if anyone's done a study to see if quilters think quilt-related thoughts even more often throughout the day?

I also received my Hancock's catalog in the mail yesterday and the drooling began...
Ohhh yes, I do love the Hancocks catalogue. They always have endless wonderful things inside.

I gotta have one of those scallop rulers and a catalog. I think scallop borders are so pretty on quilts and I struggle each time with making my template using a plate that I can never be sure if I am measuring it right.
I think the cherry pattern and quilt on the post before this one are just perfect for my kitchen which is still a work in process. Is the quilt a picture of a pattern or something you are making? I just love it!
Hahaha!! Fabric,on occasion, IS better than sex. I'm still laughing about the phrase "quiltersporn". I'm going to the European Quilt Championship this sunday. No wonder I'm all excited about that :)
Porn or not, certainly I'm drooling! LOL
ROFLMAO! FIrst we have nude pics of you, now you confess to porn.....what's next??? Quilters Crack? Pipes full of chocolate covered cherries propped artfully up against stacks of contraband fat quarters?? Omigosh - I'm gona hurt myself here -- you crack me up!!
I have already spent some time fantasizing over that catalog. I love it!
I received my Hancock's quilt porn catalog yesterday too. It is such a beautiful catalog just to look at! I love when quilt shops wrap your purchase up all purdy like that.
You're hysterical Kim! I'm pretty sure I think about fabric enough for it to be classified as porn!
I certainly think about quilting far more than sex, quilting is far more exciting but don't tell the Oh, Bearded One!
I was in Hancocks of Paducah last week when I went there for the AQS Quilt Show. Not only did I drool, but I also got to touch and feel! lol
how about a picture of that headboard? Sounds neat. CAthy
Just catching up with some blogs reading and caught your first two words, "Quilter's Porn". Ha ha, that just cracked me up!
Oh how fun getting a quilt package in the mail. Let us know how you like that scallop tool. I think you're right about quilters thinking about quilts all day. I have imagined quilt designs in the tile in the bathroom at my work.
I would love to see a pic of the headboard too. I don't have one and have been imagining how I would either hang a quilt, or cover some heavy cardboard squares with batting and fabric to resemble a quilted headboard of some sort. I just haven't figured out yet what I want. Can we see yours?
Thanks,
Chris
Girl you make me laugh - great fabric and that scallop ruler is a cool thing.
