Finally, a Quilt Top!

I've finished the quilt top I've been working on piecing, and I wanted to show it off a little. It's my version of the 2007 Thimbleberries Club project. First, here's what the original BOM looked like for reference:

I decided that I just didn't want to make a ginormous quilt, so at the beginning of the club year, I decided I'd "pint size" mine--that is, halve the measurements. I also didn't want all those pieced borders--I wanted mine to be a little simpler. Finally, I didn't really like all of the filler "stuff" in the quilt--if you've watched what I've been doing on the Hometown Christmas quilt, you probably already know that I sometimes like to take the space used by filler blocks to make something different. So, anyway, here's my version:

I haven't measured it, but my guess is that it's around 50" to 55 inches. I'd like to get this one layered, pinned, and quilted before too long and hang it on the wall in my daughter's former room. Oh, and when I'm done with the quilting, I'll be adding a few embellishments--primarily I'm thinking about button "flowers" in the window box of the house.

With this one done--to this point at least--it's time for me to go address those dancing Valentine's hearts in my head and play around with some charm packs. I hope you're enjoying your weekend as much as I'm enjoying mine! Thanks for stopping in to visit me!

  9. Wonderful quilt! Really a look and style I enjoy very much! I can see we're going to get along just fine.

My husband's Meniere's story is at http://www.vcnet.com/lmiller/. Not fancy, just one guy's story but over the years visitors have told him that he has given them a new perspective and path to try out for relief. Hope it can help at your house, too.
