Our fall house guests arrived on my doorstep yesterday, and one of the first things Hubby wanted to know was where I was going to store them. He's SUCH a party-pooper!
I thought I'd just leave them in their boxes for a few days at least. Remember I told you they were coming in THIS post? I broke the news to Hubby a couple days later, and I've got to say, he wasn't too happy with my office manager. I told her, of course. I figured she needed to know before the next firm get together, which is scheduled for the beginning of October.
I love to decorate for fall and Halloween, but I haven't decided when to do that this year. Maybe the weekend after the one that's coming up--that will be just before my carpal tunnel surgery.
Last year I had a little contest to name my newly-acquired thrift store witch, and Pink Flamingo Dianne came up with the perfect name: Cackling Rosie. I may need to do something similar this year with these new additions.
If you love to decorate for Halloween, have you started yet? When do you think you will? Are you adding any new decorations this year? Inquiring minds . . . .
I am hoping to start my Fall decorating this weekend and I can't wait! Now that I have my classroom ready for school, I can work on home things without that freaked out feeling. :O
ReplyDeleteI will start by hanging my Fall quilts on the clothesline my husband installed in our stairway. It's a pretty big wall that would otherwise be blank because you can't reach it without some serious engineering of ladders and/or platforms. I will post a picture as soon as I hang them.
Halloween is my favorite holiday as well! I'll start the fall decorating this weekend and add in the halloween stuff around the first of October. I'm working on halloween quilty projects right now :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to meet them!
ReplyDeleteYou know I already started. I'm just going to keep added as the month goes on.
if this year is anything like the past several years have been, halloween will have come and gone before i even remember to dig out the wreath for the front door, let alone decorate ... but i DO know what i would name two skeletons ... Temperance and Seeley - Temperance would wear clunky jewelry, blue vinyl gloves, and a trench coat; Seeley would wear a belt with a big buckle that says "Cocky" and wild socks, and he'd be holding a big honking gun on a clown ... i'm just sayin'
ReplyDeletep.s. - word verification is "cinglyme" - which could be dyslexic for "clingy me" or crazy phonics for "singly me"
Oh, please have a Name the Skeleton contest! I have the perfect name...
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have so much fun with these guys! I'm envious. So far this month I've almost completed Shawn Williams'Pumpkin Farm pattern wool pumpkins....5 of them. I'm hooked on wool right now!
ReplyDeleteI pulled out my Fall decor last weekend and did the change-over! No witches though... just pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteOf course you will store these in your closet....because don't we all have a few skeletons in our closets.... :)
