Did you know that crabs have tails? I didn't until our first night in Pismo Beach, when I ordered clam chowder and a tempura crab tail appetizer. Yum!
That was the first time we ate at the Cracked Crab--we went back again two nights later. It seems to me that the Cracked Crab and the Splash Cafe vie for the title of best clam chowder in the Pismo Beach area.
The chowder at the Splash Cafe has a stronger seafood taste; I prefer the Cracked Crab. Both are excellent though!
Summer has hit us hard here in Sacramento--today our temperatures rose above the 100 degree mark and they'll do the same again tomorrow. The weather folks say we should get a nice breeze in from the ocean and up through the delta tomorrow night, and that will cool us down a bit. In the meantime, I'll just have to content myself with thinking about our vacation.
That's the view from our little patio at the Sandcastle Inn. See how close we were to the beach? It's just down the stairs there in front of our room. Ahhhhhhhh.
oh yeah, that looks niiiice - and the guy playing the guitar? was he singing to the ocean?
